Job description

Wednesday-Saturday, 06:00-16:30 Position Summary

Using good aseptic lab practices, is responsible to support testing of disposable cards through set up of Vitek cards and physical inspections of lots. Perform environment testing as well, and ensures proper documentation according to cGMP's and current procedures. Perform all duties using safety conscious practices.

Primary Duties
  • Test products as scheduled in an efficient and timely manner per procedures and specifications.
  • Set up and perform physical inspection of products per procedures and specifications.
  • Label cages to note status of product for disposition and manage reserve samples.
  • Unpack, maintain, and organize laboratory supplies/inventory.
  • Support QC and other projects as requested by management.
  • Collect and test Environmental Monitoring samples from production areas.
  • Utilize and maintain automated systems for sample preparation and testing.
  • Prepare laboratory supplies for autoclaving and run the autoclave.
  • Prepare and dispense microbiological suspensions per procedure.
  • Prepare, complete, and maintain all relevant laboratory paperwork per procedures and regulations.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of related experience working in a microbiology or clinical laboratory required
Preferred Qualifications
  • A 4-year degree in biology, microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Environmental Monitoring preferred.
  • Experience with VITEK 2 / 2XL, VITEK Compact, and/or VITEK REVEAL preferred.
  • Experience with TECAN or other automated sample preparation systems preferred.

Working Conditions (Summary)
  • Ability to remain in stationary position, either sitting or standing, for prolonged period
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like
  • Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day
  • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
  • Must be able to work in refrigerated environments for extended periods
  • Must be comfortable with occasional strong smells
The estimated hourly pay rate for the role starts at $23/hr. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux's bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate's experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
