Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to work our Edwardsville, KS facility.  This individual will direct, coordinate, and plan the activities of the Quality Control program and the related work force involved in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods to ensure continuous production of product consistent with established standards, serving as leave person for a group of employees, normally to a maximum of 15 employees.  Communicates procedures to all subordinates, assuring that they are understood and implemented when applicable.  You will be responsible to:

  • Develop and institute new test procedures, documentation, and policies for QC and for proper training of all QC technicians.
  • Assign responsibilities and specific work or functional activities to QC technicians, and schedules flow in conjunction with Branch and Customer requests.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulate and maintain QC objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Conduct laboratory tests independently, interprets results, makes and oversees additions or product currently in-process
  • Compile and analyze test information to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Confer with scientists or engineers to conduct analyses, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
  • Recommend measures to improve testing procedures and use of equipment. Maintains time and testing records
  • Responsible for obtaining and disseminating technical knowledge of raw materials, finished products, processes, and equipment useful to QC to obtain desired objectives.
  • Responsible for assuring proper care and maintenance is being performed on all lab equipment and instruments
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Participate or direct resolution of any QC problem encountered by customers and investigate complaints on existing products
Qualifications

To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:

  • Have one year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Previous laboratory experience
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Possess good math and analytical skills.

In addition to these qualifications, we will consider as a plus if you have:

  • Previous experience within the Ink Industry
