Job description

Location: Lenexa, KS

Job Summary and Purpose:

The QC Virology Technician I will ensure in-process materials and final product are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9CFR. 

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

        Conduct titrations, inactivation assurance, identity, and extraneous agent testing for in-process materials and final product

        Conduct testing described above in tissue culture or chicken embryos

        Preparing media and reagents for testing

        Perform mathematical calculations by using Reed-Muench method

        Performed tasks using aseptic technique to avoid contamination

        Document results concurrently and legible when performed

        Report any Out of Specification results

        Routine lab maintenance and cleaning

        Assure QC records are accurate, and compliant

        All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

        Education - bachelor's degree in microbiology, Veterinary Science or equivalent; 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

        Work Experience - 1+ years in Quality Control or relevant lab experience strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

        Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods of time

        Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

        Visual inspection

Working Conditions:

        Position located at the Biomune Lenexa campus in the quality control laboratory

        Required to work with hazardous materials in a safe, controlled environment
