QA Technician

Pay: $17.50/hour (includes shift differential)
Hours: 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM with overtime as needed
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Owasso, Oklahoma


Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies. The QA Technician will monitor production processes, perform quality checks, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure products meet regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production processes for compliance with USDA, GMP, HACCP, and company policies.
  • Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Maintain accurate records, including quality control logs, inspection reports, and food safety documentation.
  • Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports for internal and external audits.
  • Perform routine product testing, such as temperature checks, pH testing, moisture analysis, and weight checks.
  • Notify the FSQA Supervisor of any deviations from specified limits.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining company food safety and quality policies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to ensure compliance at all processing stages.
  • Provide feedback and support to production staff regarding quality control and food safety practices.
  • Communicate quality or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate department.
  • Guide proper handling, storage, and processing of raw materials and finished products.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or related fields is a plus.
  • Previous experience in food safety, quality assurance, or similar roles in the meat processing or food manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, including HACCP, SPC, GMP, SSOP, and food safety regulations, is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in cold or refrigerated environments and in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication; knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required.
