Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager position at Gavial Engineering & Manufacturing is a manufacturing quality leadership role focused on managing the company's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring product reliability, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Assurance Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals and coordinates these objectives with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize cost.
  • Maintains the quality manual and quality operating procedures and acts as the Management Representative for all quality system issues.
  • Arranges and/or conducts internal and external quality system audits to ensure the efficacy of the overall quality program.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Dispositions non-conforming hardware.
  • Manages the corrective/preventive action program to ensure that actual and potential non-conformances are minimized or eliminated.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Leads and directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, test and/or integration to ensure the quality of manufactured parts.
  • Works with supplier base to ensure the acceptable quality and delivery of all purchased parts for company use.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

  • Good time management skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (email, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with ERP system (inventory/manufacturing software).

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, plus 4-10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a quality management system in a manufacturing environment; 1-3 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of quality standards (NQA-1, AS9100, ISO 9001)
  • IPC-A-610 Inspector Certified preferred
