Job description

Smith Personnel is currently hiring for a Quality Assistant

Maintain appropriate documentation for all activities related to the Quality Assurance department. These activities will include, but not be limited to, preparing product certificates of compliance, coordinating subcontractor purchase orders (PO), and preparing shipping / receiving documents.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1) Coordination of subcontractor purchase orders:
a. Assisting Production Department with requesting quotes from subcontractors.
b. Preparation of subcontractor POโ€™s and PO receivers in ERP system.
c. Monitor and report status of subcontractor POโ€™s during daily production meetings.
2) Coordination with Shipping & Receiving:
a. Prepare product certification packages and related documents.
b. Prepare shipping and receiving documents (packing lists, bills of lading, and receivers).
i. Coordinate with the Sales Department to identify customer paid shipping.
3) Assist with Customer Billing (assist in accurate and timely billing of all shipments):
a. Deliver product certification packages to Sales and Shipping Departments.
b. Deliver shipping documentation to the Sales Department.
4) Maintain the Quality Assurance Department filing system.
a. Maintain and close completed sales order folders.
b. Ensure product certification packages are timely and accurately filed.
5) Other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1) Experience in data entry and file management requiring 100% accuracy regarding facts and data entry.
2) Experience with POโ€™s and Receivers is required.
3) Experience with Shipping and Receiving documentation is required.
a. Experience with shipping and import / export data entry portals strongly desired.
4) Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
a. This position interacts daily with vendors and participates in daily production meetings.
5) Computer experience โ€“ medium to high level skills required.
a. Proficient in all Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook.
b. Major ERP system experience is required (Epicor 10 desired, but any ERP experience will suffice).
6) Excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task and provide updates throughout the day.
7) Regular shift is Monday โ€“ Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, overtime will be required periodically.

Pay: $19.00
