CRi is hiring a Virginia Credentialed Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) for our Mental Health program in Arlington, VA. The QMHP-A is responsible for collaboratively setting the clinical direction of services provided to individuals receiving services through the development of the Individualized Recovery Plan (IRP). The QMHP supports individuals through day to day needs and overall recovery process and when needed, through stabilization crisis. They are responsible for assisting individuals to achieve maximum independence through the delivery of services outlined in their plan and provides supportive counseling, training, and community integration/engagement to individuals with a mental health diagnoses.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a positive regard for individuals and their families and/or support systems (e.g., demonstrate respect for individuals, allowing risk-taking, avoiding stereotypes, advocacy, believing individuals are valuable members of society).
  • Demonstrate sound clinical skills including those associated with advanced communication skills.
  • Develop essential therapeutic and collaborative relationships that foster independence and supports the change dynamic and recovery process.
  • Teach skills necessary for independence and overall recovery.
  • Represent CRi at government, agency, and family meetings as needed.
  • Interact with government, community agencies and individuals to develop consumer network referral base.
  • Mentor CRi mental health staff to develop professional skills and assist in staff retention.
  • Assess consumer strengths, needs and support systems to facilitate the development of individual service plans.
  • Assist/instruct consumers in implementing their individual service plans.
  • Perform crisis intervention.
  • Work as a team member, maintaining effective inter and intra-agency working relationships.
  • Work independently, performing position duties under general supervision.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing (e.g., documentation).
  • Maintain all clinical and programmatically required documentation in compliance with all relevant regulations, insurance agencies and/or CRi policies.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing supportive relationships with individuals.
  • Responsible for professional development, e.g., attends professional training and seminars related to work in the mental health field.
  • QMHP's working in residential settings will be expected to maintain all required duties and tasks regarding the overall maintenance of the home, safety of the environment and overall assignments or needs within the program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP or must be a LMFT, LSATP or LPC in good standing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the following topics:
    • The nature of serious mental illness in adults.
    • Treatment modalities and intervention techniques, such behavior management, independent living skills training, supportive counseling, family education, crisis intervention, discharge planning and service coordination.
    • Clinical assessments and their use in service planning.
    • Consumers' rights.
    • Local community resources and service delivery systems.
    • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication principles and techniques.
    • Nutrition.
    • General principles to record documentation.
    • The service planning process and major components of a service plan.
