Summary

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Technician and play a key role in ensuring every product meets the highest standards! In this position, you'll monitor production processes, verify compliance with company, regulatory, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, and help maintain a safe and high-quality environment throughout plant operations. This is your chance to make a direct impact on food safety, quality, and customer trust every day.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00pm-2:30am, weekends as needed.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accurately conduct product reviews for compliance to include grading, packaging and weights and related.
  • Monitor enforces company Quality and Food Safety Policies.
  • Perform product reviews on various products with Operations Group.
  • Must be familiar with the facility's Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Operation Procedures and implement Corrective Actions if deviations are observed.
  • Must continually evaluate potential for foreign material contamination while in assigned work areas.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as directed by management to meet department and operations business needs.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years in a comparable field.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in food quality and/or safety.

 

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
