Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing the training of new hires, cross-training activities, and development of entirely new functions
  • Working with the Technical Services Manager in determining training programs and regimens
  • Motivating the Technical Services Technicians to ensure that they are executing the functions that they have been assigned in a way that is consistent to the training and overall function requirements
  • Executing the daily schedule of supervising in alignment with the department and company priorities to ensure that Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and overall margin enhancement are impacted by the daily activities
    • Including determining scheduling of Technical Services Technicians start time, activities while at the job, and finish time
    • Ensuring that employees are following time and attendance requirements, time clock requirements, recording, documenting, and communicating all activities associated with the scheduling
    • Daily "Kronos" time records review and acceptance/denial
  • Interviewing and discussing with the Technical Services Manager the hiring decision when Technical Services Technicians jobs become available
  • Meeting the legal supervisory requirements of National Beef; this includes all OSHA and EEO requirements
  • Documenting and communicating Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and other issues to Hourly Production Employees, Operations Management, and other management employees in the plant
  • Helping to ensure the facility adheres to all USDA FSIS rules and regulations, plant programs, 3rd party audits requirements, etc.
  • Helping to ensure the facility adheres to customer specifications
  • Daily monitoring of sanitation practices to ensure that the sanitation standards are met
  • Frequent (throughout the day) monitoring of Technical Services Technicians and expected parameters to ensure that the safety requirements are met
  • Frequent (throughout the day) monitoring of food safety requirements to ensure that the food safety standards and federal legal requirements are met
  • Frequent (throughout the week) monitoring of quality requirement parameters to ensure that quality standards are met
  • Communicating and documenting audit findings to Plant Management
  • Use of Technical Services Hold Tags to control areas of the plant and product that does not meet the standards of the company
  • Use of Personnel forms to document personnel actions
  • Follow-up activities to ensure that Technical Services Technicians are properly trained, executing the job as expected
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position. This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications

Qualified Candidates for the Quality Assurance Supervisor position should possess the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education
  • Exhibited good attendance and work ethics in past jobs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to work well with others as the job has inherent conflict and confrontational aspects
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to perform required activities

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
