DESCRIPTION:
In this role you will manage Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities, establish short and long-term quality plans
in order to meet quality targets, monitor and report quality metrics, and act as
main quality liaison to customers.
  • Create and establish short-term quality plans; support execution of long term quality plans.
  • Create and introduce new product release systems and disciplines in order to ensure quality commensurate with YAI's quality-focus philosophy.
  • Establish quality metrics and collections systems. Implement in order to track progress and make improvements. Provide monthly reports.
  • Communicate and coordinate with parent company on new product development, introduction strategy and ongoing technical/quality issues with new and existing products.
  • Mange internal and external corrective actions.
  • Create, implement, and upgrade quality processes and procedures.
  • Train employees regarding standard inspection practices including CMM, gauging, etc.
  • Schedule and lead ISO and customer audits. Oversee and train internal auditor base. Communicate and follow-up with auditing agencies and customers to resolve open issues.
  • Support supplier audit teams and evaluate/authorize new suppliers for use. Conduct regular supplier quality meetings, and evaluate overall supplier quality.
  • Support customer audits of Yaskawa facilities. Lead teams to [prepare all the necessary information required by the customer.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continual improvement. This includes cost reduction and process improvements, design changes, component substitutions, supplier changes, labor savings, etc. Provide cost analysis in the form of return on investment, breakeven analysis, and/or annual total. Review supplier requests for design changes, evaluate their impact on product design and authorize appropriately.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in Quality Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (with EE background), or Electrical Engineering (with ME background).
  • Certified CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent.
  • BS degree: minimum 4 years of quality control experience related to electronic assemblies.
  • MS degree: minimum 1 year of quality control experience related to electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to develop and operate quality control systems including training programs.
  • Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
  • Familiarity with quality cost concepts and techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ability to plan long-term improvements in order to establish high quality structure.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong training and follow-up skills relating to the development of staff.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
