Title: QA Automation Architect

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite 2-3days)

Duration: Long Term

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect robust end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript.
  • Define QA strategies, automation roadmaps, and best practices for multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Lead test planning, execution, and reporting for web and API testing.
  • Ensure automation scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to optimize testing efficiency.
  • Mentor QA teams on automation, coding standards, and quality metrics.
  • Conduct reviews of test code, frameworks, and overall QA architecture.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of overall QA and automation experience.
  • 3+ years in a QA Architect or Lead Automation Engineer capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and API automation.
  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript (or JavaScript).
  • Deep understanding of test automation frameworks, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Familiarity with API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter).
