Job Summary
The Investment Planning Analyst is responsible for maintaining client portfolios, and for developing financial plans for clients using our PX software. This role focuses on managing existing accounts & investment models. We focus on optimizing the relationship between Risk and Return within the client's risk tolerance. Associates will excel in this role through multi-tasking, demonstrating an understanding of portfolio theory and asset allocation, and expressing curiosity about investments, the economy, and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
  • Case Prep
    • Each of the below will need to be learned and mastered as quickly as possible - note that Illustrations and PXs are created via proprietary software
      • Illustrations
      • YCharts comparisons (YCharts is an online investment analysis website, similar to Morningstar)
      • Creating PX plans, updating existing PX plans, editing PX plans
  • Analysis
    • Meeting with wholesalers, investigate and research investments and portfolio ideas
    • Intermittently evaluate portfolio models and potential changes
    • Be cognizant of funds we could employ in the future
    • Read articles sent via email from fund managers, on YCharts, etc.
  • Trading
    • Monitor exceptions/violations, particularly in taxable accounts
    • Sell to raise cash at regular intervals
    • Recommending buys in individual/JT/529 accounts
    • Master EnV2 (our advisory trading program) - Become expert in 'block' trading our investment models
  • Client Service and Relationship Management
    • Serve as the principal contact for client relationships
    • Makes critical client decisions such as creating, preparing, reviewing, and presenting financial plans
    • Responsible for the quality control of client deliverables such as plans, analysis and presentations
    • Communicates proactively and consistently with clients to identify changes in their financial lives and needs that should be met
    • Manage client appointments and cancellations; reserve conference rooms for in-person meetings
    • Prefill and submit paperwork for new and existing business, process, and track account requests
    • Maintains high level of professional expertise and continues to learn new processes, theories, and best practices to service clients
  • Business Development
    • Leverage key marketing resources and tools provided to the firm
    • Engages existing database to deepen relationships
    • Responsible for actively finding new client relationships
    • Develops specialized knowledge that fits within the strategy of our firm

Job Qualifications
  • Series 7 licensed preferred; able to contract as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor within a year
  • Ability to commute to job location in Chesterfield, MO daily
  • Demonstrate patience, open-mindedness, reliability, and dependability
  • Professional level understanding of life insurance, investments, portfolios
  • Technologically savvy, with the ability to learn new technology early and often
  • Flexible and adaptable to the varying needs of the practice
