Job description

Manage a team of engineers and engineering design professionals
Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality completion of utility-scale renewable engineering scopes
Oversee multidisciplinary Electrical, Civil, and partial Structural scopes
Develop, enforce, and implement department Standard Best Practices
Mentor and coach team members and support their professional growth
Lead PV, BESS, and Wind projects
Liaise between the Renewable Development design team and internal and external stakeholders
Deliver preliminary PV, BESS, and/or Wind designs (0โ€“30%)
Create constraint files to determine initial project feasibility
Create solar, PV, or Wind layouts
Perform preliminary cable, DC, civil grading, and drainage design
Prepare high-level Bills of Materials
Schedule preliminary design activities to meet external stakeholder deadlines
Perform electrical studies including load flow, ampacity, losses, and short circuit
Produce energy estimates using PVSyst
Perform QAQC reviews and drive quality within the team
Work with Proposal teams and SMEs to establish proposal pricing
Provide engineering and technical support to Business Development and Project Services
Provide pre-sales technical support to customers and outside sales teams
Develop and maintain company-client relationships
Lead internal and external project calls
Attend relevant conferences, training workshops, seminars, and classes
Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s in Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred in certain instances
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • FE, PE is preferred
  • Experience with energy modeling using PVsyst
  • Experience with AutoCAD and preferred experience in PVCase
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Project
  • Basic understanding electrical and civil engineering with specific emphasis on PV, BESS and Wind
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and internal personnel
  • Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and a skilled decision maker comfortable in a fast-paced design environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Commercial understanding of the engineering or construction industries
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
