Coffman Engineers is seeking an Senior Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about their craft, wants to work on a high-functioning team, and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.

You would be providing our clients with electrical systems design including power, lighting, load calculations, and coordination with other disciplines. May plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the professional work as part of a major project or for a total project of moderate scope. May supervise or coordinate the work of other professionals who assist in specific assignments.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Approximate Base Salary – $125,000 – $160,000 annually.
  • Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
  • Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
  • Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
  • 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Duties

  • Perform complete construction documents to include drawings, power system studies and specification documentation.
  • Perform and oversee execution of designs including medium and low voltage AC, DC, single line diagrams, electrical plans and equipment layout.
  • Perform and oversee execution of lighting design both interior and exterior, calculate foot-candle to ensure lighting design meets IESNA requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external customers and provide engineering support through design and construction phases including but not limited to reviewing/ approving shop drawings submittals, responding to RFI’s, and addressing AHJ comments.
  • Knowledge of Title-24 Part 6 California Energy Conservation Code.
  • Review deliverables and follow QA/QC process through design and construction phases.
  • Perform site visits and communicate with architects, contractors, and consulting teams.
  • Participate in and lead internal team meetings and external client meetings.
  • Present design approaches to authorities having jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Work independently and supervise the efforts of a small team.
  • Participate in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
  • Maintain a working relationship with clients.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Power engineering or related field
  • PE license in Electrical Engineering (licensed for at least 3 years)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design
  • Experience with AutoCAD/REVIT
  • Experience with OSHPD/HCAi
  • Knowledge of Title-24 Part 6 California Energy Conservation Code
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-family, commercial, institutional, and higher education projects
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage System.
  • Experience with SKM and/or ETAP programs
  • Experience with PVsyst software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe/Bluebeam software.
  • Project Management experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, supervisory, and people skills.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Perform project management duties for various MEP design projects.
  • Prepare design tasks assigned by department manager.
  • Perform complete construction documents, including drawings, power system studies, and specifications.

  • Review of deliverables, including QA/QC through design and construction.
