Job description

SUMMARY:Primary responsibilities include all Front-of-House operations during events held at the Purser Center. Duties will include, but are not limited to: patron services, concessions, guiding volunteer ushers, maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of the House, and communicating with the Purser Center Technical Director to effectively and efficiently host a show. The Front of House Manager is responsible for ensuring that guests have a safe, relaxed, and pleasant experience at the Purser Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a professional attitude and image to assure the highest level of customer service to clients and guests of the Purser Center.
  • Able to be diplomatic and take into consideration diverse populations who visit the Purser Center.
  • Manage several responsibilities at once.
  • Willing and able to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekend and 12 hour shifts.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patrons and respond effectively during emergencies.
  • Oversee ushers (volunteer or paid), Logan custodial, contracted security, caterers, and other vendors to ensure that Logan University rules and standards are being upheld.
  • Diplomatically enforce Logan University rules with clients and guests, ensuring a pleasant experience for all guests.
  • Coordinate with the Logan Security Guard to resolve any campus issues created by Purser Center guests.
  • Coordinate performance pre-show, show, and post-show activities with Purser Center Technical Director.
  • For each event worked, compile information necessary to complete the report for the Executive Director of Brand Experience.
  • Ability to perform routine office tasks such as filing, organizing, mailing, and computer work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address complexissues utilizing a clear and thoughtful manner, and to come to a resolution quickly and without jeopardizing the event or relationships involved.
