Job Summary
Purdue University Northwest's Dining Services is seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant to the Dining Services Director. The Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of dining and events services. This role involves managing schedules, coordinating communications, handling documentation, cash handling procedures and assisting with various tasks related to dining and event management. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Work hours: Approximately 19 hours/week

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Dining Service Director and management team.
  • Answer phones, emails, and respond to customer inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
  • Coordinate catering paperwork, reservations, and event details.
  • Assist with meal plan information and customer service support.
  • Support marketing efforts including signage and promotions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High school diploma/GED required

Experience
  • Previous administrative or office experience preferred
  • Experience in food service, hospitality, or higher education dining is a plus
  • Experience with PNW Dining Services is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
