How much do purchasing student program jobs pay per year?
What is the difference between Purchasing Student Program vs Purchasing Assistant?
| Aspect | Purchasing Student Program | Purchasing Assistant |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Enrolled in a related degree program, some internships may require coursework in supply chain or business | High school diploma or equivalent; some roles prefer coursework in business or logistics |
| Work Environment | Part-time, internship setting within procurement or supply chain departments | Full-time or part-time administrative support in procurement teams |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Typically offered by companies to students for training and experience in procurement | Common entry-level support role in purchasing departments across industries |
The Purchasing Student Program is an internship designed for students gaining experience in procurement, often part-time and educational-focused. In contrast, a Purchasing Assistant is a full-time or part-time role supporting procurement activities with more responsibilities. Both roles serve as entry points into the purchasing field, but the program emphasizes learning and development, while the assistant role involves more operational tasks.
