Job Summary:


We are seeking a Purchasing Manager who oversees the procurement of materials, components, and services to support production and business operations. This role is responsible for supplier management, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of quality materials. The Purchasing Manager leads the purchasing team and works closely with production, engineering, and finance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage purchasing strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Select, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure strong performance and reliability.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to meet demand.
  • Resolve supply chain issues, delays, or shortages.
  • Review purchase orders and ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Track key purchasing metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and finance on sourcing decisions.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage and develop the purchasing team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and sourcing strategies
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

  • Experience leading a purchasing or supply chain team
  • Knowledge of Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with contract development and vendor scorecards
  • Advanced Excel or data analysis skills
  • Certification such as CPM, CPSM, or APICS is a plus
