Position Overview:The Purchaser is responsible for supporting daily procurement operations by processing internal purchase requests, sourcing and purchasing materials, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels of consumables and shop supplies. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing while maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):- Process and complete internal purchase order (PO) requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Source, purchase, and track consumables and shop supplies to support daily operations
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively replenish stock to prevent shortages or production disruptions
- Maintain organized and accurate purchasing and inventory records
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand material needs and ensure alignment with operational priorities
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status, pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
- Manage and process Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) for defective or incorrect items
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and proceduresMust Have's- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred
- 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing or shop environment is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
