Job description

Purchasing Coordinator-NPD

Responsible for securing (onboarding and setting up) suppliers, issue purchase orders for shop supplies and project related work, but also assists with the issuance of production related materials. Works closely with Buyers and other cross functional teams where they articulate G&W requirements with supplier base to achieve positive outcome

As a Purchasing Coordinator you will:

  • Issue Purchase Orders for MRO/Indirect requisitions, quotes, and MRP related purchases
  • Consult catalogs (online resources) and other references to obtain prices and specifications
  • Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedites as necessary
  • On board new suppliers as needed
  • Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category
  • Expedite PO’s to ensure on-time delivery
  • Assist buyers with maintaining data; delivery dates, pricing, etc. in ERP system
  • Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members
  • Maintain department’s ISO work instructions
  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required
  • Has experience in manufacturing environment
  • Performs work under general supervision
  • Has good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Has basic MRP system understanding
  • Has good problem-solving skills
  • Has the ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English

The physical demands of the job are:

  • General Office Environment, PC use
  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs. or less)
  • Sitting - frequent
  • Stooping – occasional
  • Prolonged computer usage

Pay Range is typically between $46,945 – 57,503 annually
