Job description

Purchasing Clerk

Location: Irvine, CA
Schedule: Flexible (7:30 AM–4:30 PM / 7:00 AM–4:00 PM / 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
Length of Assignment: Approximately 4 months
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour 


Role Overview

This contract role provides short-term operational support for supply chain and logistics activities. The Purchasing Clerk will follow established processes to support procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier coordination, ensuring continuity of operations and data accuracy throughout the assignment.


Core Responsibilities
  • Create and manage purchase orders, transfer orders, and work orders in NetSuite

  • Monitor open orders, inbound shipments, and inventory levels; identify delays and coordinate resolution

  • Track supplier lead times and delivery performance; communicate risks and exceptions

  • Coordinate with domestic and international logistics providers to ensure on-time deliveries

  • Partner with procurement, warehouse, finance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve receiving, invoicing, or documentation issues

  • Support sourcing and tracking of R&D or prototype materials as needed

  • Maintain accurate system data and assist with supply chain reporting and KPIs

  • Follow documented workflows to ensure smooth operational continuity


Required Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or related roles

  • Hands-on experience using NetSuite (or similar ERP systems) for inventory and order management

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating cross-functionally

  • Comfortable working in warehouse or manufacturing environments
