Position Overview
dormakaba is seeking a Purchasing Manager based in Chino, CA. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Purchasing team in Chino, while collaborating with dormakaba purchasing professionals within the region and globally. The Purchasing Manager works closely with the local engineering, production, production planning and other key company departments to source and deliver materials such as fabricated sheet metal components, machined parts, and electrical components from a wide array of domestic and overseas vendors. This position has general responsibility in ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of products and materials used in our manufacturing and assembly processes, including service contracts and capital equipment.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: Base Salary $120,000 - $140,000 plus generous Short Term Incentive Bonus (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) What you will do
  • Oversee Purchasing department activities at the plant level, and provide leadership and management for the local Purchasing team
  • Interact and collaborate with dormakaba purchasing professionals within the region and globally, in addition to collaborating with multiple departments within the plant
  • Plan and develop purchasing strategies related to and supporting dormakaba regional and corporate objectives
  • Lead and monitor continuous improvement activities that are providing for new sources, products, materials, processes, and ideas to ensure cost savings and operational efficiency
  • Manage and coordinate projects to improve the overall efficiency of the purchasing and materials functions

What we require
  • 5+ years of purchasing/buying experience within a mid-sized manufacturing environment, along with previous management or supervisory experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of S&OP processes
  • Independent sourcing of fabricated sheet metal, machined and electromechanical components
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings, ability to successfully interact with engineers
  • Excellent procurement and purchasing functions knowledge. Familiarity with inventory control procedures and experience in MRP systems
