Expeditor Buyer

The Expeditor – Buyer is responsible for the scheduling, expediting, and purchasing of materials, supplies, and services to ensure the on-time delivery of quality goods and services. This role requires strong coordination with internal teams and external suppliers to meet production and operational needs.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing
  • Experience with certified quality systems adhering to certifications like ISO and API
  • Excellent understanding of purchasing processes and procedures
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite a must
  • Experience with ERP system a must
  • Experience in oilfield-related manufacturing would be an asset
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

What you'll do:

  • Extract and generate scheduling and procurement-related information from multiple reports, and follow-up with stakeholders to ensure accurate delivery expectations of goods and/or services.
  • Communicate any issues that may impact vendor delivery dates with Production and/or Sales.
  • Quote/Analyze sales requests outside of regular production demand for custom products as requested.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and other conditions. Work to build long-term relationships with suppliers to achieve mutual benefits.
  • Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services while adhering to budgetary constraints and quality standards. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies that arise.
  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory or shortages. Coordinate with suppliers to implement inventory control measures as needed.
  • Regularly attend team meetings to provide up-to-date delivery information to Production Control and adjust delivery changes with vendors to accommodate changing production demands.
  • Resolve issues with late deliveries, discrepancies in quality or quantity, or failure to meet established specifications / guidelines that impact production and/or sales.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop/arrange expediting for critical demand dates of goods and/or services.
  • Review product demand reports daily to identify required products / services needed to meet demand and/or minimum stock levels.
  • Choose appropriate vendors from McCoy Global approved vendor list to send RFQs for products and/or services.
  • Acquire multiple quotes for products and/or services prior to purchase order or purchase based on Price, Availability, and Delivery.
  • Create and maintain Purchase Orders through MRP / ERP system per purchasing procedures.
  • Expedites/reschedules delivery dates to meet demand for customer and production orders.
  • Process interdepartmental requisitions, when required, and monitor purchase requisition requests daily through creation to arrival.
  • Coordinate with Engineering/Production on prototyping and spot demands as business needs require.
  • Approve and issue purchase orders, in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.
  • Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new products.
  • Meet forecasted and/or unplanned procurement needs for commodities and/or specific market segments as assigned.
  • Process Supplier non-conformances according to McCoy's internal policies.
  • Adhere to assigned KPIs and implement individual KPIs that are aligned with the goal and vision of the company.
  • Build and develop relationships with key suppliers, customers, & McCoy team members, and assist in developing vendor partnerships.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies throughout the procurement process. Conduct due diligence on suppliers to verify their legal and ethical standards.

  • Comply with McCoy policies and quality system processes and procedures
  • Maintain technical accuracy and detail in all aspects of completed work
