Punch / Laser Operator

Location: Marion, TX
Shift:7am-3:30pm M-F possible OT

Position Summary

The Punch / Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring punch press and laser cutting equipment to produce quality metal components according to engineering drawings, work orders, and production specifications. This position ensures safe operation of equipment, maintains quality standards, and supports production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate punch press, laser cutting machines and CNC machines according to production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Select, install, align, and secure tooling, punches, dies, and machine components.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify equipment malfunctions, misalignment, or quality issues.
  • Inspect finished parts using measuring tools, gauges, templates, and visual inspection techniques.
  • Verify dimensions and quality standards are met throughout the production process.
  • Track production quantities and accurately document completed work.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments and routine maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following company safety procedures.
  • Follow all quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Assist with material handling and movement of parts as required.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, machine operation, punch press, laser cutting, or metal fabrication experience preferred.
