Job description

We are hiring for a multi-skilled CO2 Laser Operator / Laser QC Technician to join a fast-paced manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for both experienced operators and entry-level candidates willing to learn, with training provided.


Shift & Pay

  • Day Shift: Monday – Thursday
  • Hours: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pay:
    • Up to $30+/hr for experienced candidates
    • Starting at $20/hr for entry-level with training provided


Job Overview

This role combines laser operation, maintenance support, and quality control work. You will be responsible for running CO2 laser systems, processing materials, and ensuring finished parts meet quality standards. You may also perform inspection and QC tasks on laser-cut components, including removing protective films and preparing parts for production flow.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CO2 laser systems
  • Process a variety of materials according to specifications
  • Assist with maintaining and optimizing laser equipment performance
  • Troubleshoot basic laser processing issues
  • Support production flow and reduce downtime
  • Follow technical drawings, work orders, and specifications
  • Perform quality checks and first article inspections
  • Remove protective films/layers from laser-cut parts when needed
  • Inspect parts for defects and ensure quality standards are met
  • Document results and report issues to leadership
  • Support continuous improvement of processes and procedures
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams

Requirements

  • 1 year laser operator experience preferred (or equivalent manufacturing experience)
  • CAD/CAM experience a plus

  • Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions
  • Familiarity with CNC or G-code is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable working in a machine shop environment


Helpful Skills (Not Required)

  • Robotics or automation experience
  • PLCs, sensors, or industrial equipment knowledge
  • Quality systems (ISO/AS9100) experience
  • Lab/testing or controlled experiment background
