Description:
Are you a skilled and dedicated mechanic with experience in repairing and maintaining rotating equipment? Join our team as a Shop Pump Mechanic at C.H. Spencer, where your hands-on expertise will be key in delivering high-quality repair services to our customers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that customer-owned equipment is repaired efficiently and reliably, with customer satisfaction as your primary goal. We seek a team player who is curious to learn, hard-working, and unafraid to ask for help.
Position Summary:
As a Shop Pump Mechanic/Warehouser, you will be responsible for performing hands-on repairs and maintenance on a variety of customer-owned rotating equipment, including process pumps, liquid ring vacuum pumps, valves, and air blowers. In addition to mechanical repairs, you will also handle tasks such as sandblasting, painting, coating, and warehouse tasks. Basic computer skills and the ability to work with a tablet are essential for maintaining accurate records and processing job information.

Job Responsibilities
  • Repairing equipment in the shop 90% of the time and travel 10% of the time
  • Repairing rotating equipment in the shop (motors, pumps, etc.)
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, such as ad hoc visits to inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair various technical systems.
  • Developing and optimizing efficient processes and routines
  • Keeping accurate records of work performed and time required
  • Maintaining Shop safe and clean
  • Other Shop related tasks
  • Loading and Unloading Truck
  • Inventory Count
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Other Warehouse related tasks.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical certification is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong hands-on mechanical skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to work with a tablet

Working Conditions:
  • Valid US Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening tests
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, use hands, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy levels, and a strong result-oriented work ethic
