About This Role

Art Teacher – Elementary Program (Contract Position) Montessori Private School

We are seeking a warm, creative, and dedicated Art Teacher to join our elementary program on a contract basis September through May. The ideal candidate will bring a genuine love of working with children ages 6-12, along with the patience and enthusiasm needed to nurture creativity in a Montessori environment that honors each child's individual pace and expression.


Position Details:

  • Contract position - Tuesday and Thursdays 12PM to 2PM
  • Located at Orlando Florida 32837

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for elementary-aged students
  • Foster creativity, self-expression, and fine motor skill development through a variety of art mediums (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, etc.)
  • Create a nurturing, low-pressure environment that aligns with Montessori philosophy and encourages independence and exploration
  • Maintain classroom materials and a clean, organized art space
  • Collaborate with lead teachers to integrate art into broader classroom themes and curriculum

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching art to children, preferably in an elementary setting
  • Genuine passion for working with young learners
  • Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn Montessori principles and practices
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Background check and relevant certifications as required
