Job description

Role Summary

T. Rowe Price's in-house Corporate Relations program builds our ability to directly strengthen our corporate partnerships. We are seeking a Senior Relationship Manager dedicated to supporting two U.S. Equity sectors across T. Rowe Price Associates (TRPA) and T. Rowe Price Investment Management (TRPIM).

The Senior Relationship Manager is a key partner to our Research Analysts, Portfolio Managers, Associate Analysts, and Corporate Investor Relations teams. This role will be responsible for the curation and management of direct access to corporates, experts, headquarter visits, bespoke research trips, etc. and will provide critical connectivity between T. Rowe's investors and the market in support of T. Rowe's fundamental, bottoms-up investment process. The Senior Relationship Manager will develop relationships with investment professionals to better understand their needs as an investor and engage them proactively by thoughtfully suggesting companies of interest or broader corporate access events (i.e., bespoke trips, summits, etc.).

The Senior Relationship Manager will also be a key connector to our corporate partners in the continued education of our dual-entity structure (TRPA & TRPIM). It is essential that this role be knowledgeable in and can highlight the composition of all TRPA and TRPIM strategies externally. The Senior Relationship Manager will report to the Head of Corporate Relations, U.S. Origination and will be based in our Global Headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Corporate Relations, U.S. Origination to strategize and advance a Corporate Relations program which consistently adds value to the investment process. Work collaboratively with investment professionals to centralize and manage U.S. corporate access activity, across our dual-entity structure, including one-off meetings, conferences, thematic summits, and bespoke research trips (sector-themed or geographically focused).
  • Build and strengthen ongoing relationships with investment professionals to stay abreast of their current coverage responsibilities and investment ideas/theses that factor into a corporate access strategy. Manage ~20 relationships with dedicated sector analysts and PMs.
  • Make pro-active corporate access suggestions based on investment team's coverage and/or knowledge of sectors, and partner with investment teams to curate differentiated and enriching corporate access interactions.
  • Act as point of contact with company management teams (CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite, Investor Relations, etc.) to request and secure meetings for our investment professionals, representing T. Rowe Price in an appropriate and compelling manner, and ensuring a positive user experience. Be a subject matter expert on public holdings per company engagement, and where appropriate, pitch dual engagements and advocate for consistent, equitable access.
  • Develop a robust knowledge of T. Rowe Price's global funds and strategies to strategically market corporate relations events and educate Investor Relations. Maintain and enhance investor relations relationships, acting as a centralized resource.
  • Originate and serve as a point of entry for new relationships with companies (public and private) where T. Rowe Price does not have a direct dialogue.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions to document and enhance the management of the corporate relations process.
  • Generate and evolve mechanisms for measuring productivity and analyzing the overall effectiveness of corporate relations programs and activities.
  • Work closely with global counterparts in other geographical locations to provide corporate relations updates and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with important business units within the organization, including Global External Research, Compliance, Meetings & Events, Research Services, Administrative Services and Technology to ensure the corporate relations program is fully integrated into the broader T. Rowe Price business.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required AND
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in financial services, either sell-side corporate access, research sales or investor relations experience is desirable.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of trends, best practices, and developments in Corporate Access.
  • Proven ability to influence and develop relationships with key stakeholders that lead to positive outcomes.
  • Self-directed and able to perform assignments independently; demonstrates pro-active approach and is flexible with change.
