Job description

Lead the planning engine that powers Marketing's product portfolio. Apply your financial acumen, analytical rigor, and strategic thinking to drive disciplined planning, governance, and efficacy measurement across a complex, fast-moving portfolio.

As a Product Portfolio Operations Manager in Marketing Product Portfolio Operations (PPO), you are a foundational member of a team responsible for implementing connectivity strategies across the product space, while being directly responsible for creating structures that enhance coordination in our product line. This role will support the Marketing Portfolio, owning the 6Q planning cadence, quarterly governance, and portfolio-wide efficacy measurement. You will partner closely with Finance, Business Management, Strategy, and product leaders to ensure investments align to Strategic Business Objectives, capacity matches demand, and every dollar delivers measurable value. Reporting to the Head of Product Portfolio Operations, you will operate in ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement in planning rigor and operational excellence.
 

Job responsibilities
  • Own the 6Q planning cadence and portfolio roadmap, coordinating with Finance, Business Management, Strategy, and Planning leads to drive unified planning, alignment, and prioritization across the Marketing portfolio
  • Lead Quarterly Investment Planning (QIP) interlocks and deliverables, balancing capacity and funding while driving trade-offs and ensuring alignment to Strategic Business Objectives
  • Drive quarterly initiative governance and hygiene, conducting tollgate reviews, enforcing Jira Align standards, and providing monthly stakeholder materials to improve operational efficiency and predictability
  • Measure and report budget vs. actual performance on Investment Proposals (IPs) across LOBs and marketing entities, standardizing value measurement and ensuring consistency in reporting
  • Review and challenge business cases, publishing efficiencies, OKRs, and scorecards to articulate value delivered and enable informed funding decisions
  • Guide Area Product Owners (APOs) to improve planning and execution, seeking operational efficiency opportunities and reducing Strategic Portfolio Alignment (SPA) participation through scope clarity
  • Partner with CCB Product Operations, Finance, and Business Management to align governance processes, improve Jira Align hygiene, and drive continuous improvement in planning and reporting practices
  • Support Marketing Product Employee Experience by identifying capacity constraints, informing hiring and location strategy, and enabling data-driven resource planning decisions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, Product Portfolio Operations, or performance optimization within complex, multi-product environments
  • Strong financial background with proven ability to manage budgets, analyze variances, and partner with Finance and Business Management on planning and reporting
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise, including proficiency with advanced analytics tools and methodologies to deliver actionable insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguity with minimal direction, balancing competing priorities and driving clarity in complex, fast-moving environments
  • Experience managing governance processes, including quarterly planning cycles, business case reviews, and portfolio-level reporting
  • Proven ability to operate within the product development life cycle and agile methodologies, with strong understanding of dependency management and cross-functional coordination
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across multiple teams and functions
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in operations for complex portfolios (groups of products) within financial services or large enterprise environments, with familiarity in planning, location strategy, and capacity planning practices
  • Advanced knowledge of dependency management, cross-functional workstreams, and continuous improvement in reporting and analytics processes
  • Proficiency with Jira Align, Tableau, and other portfolio management and analytics tools
  • Agile or portfolio management certifications (e.g., SAFe, PMP, Certified Scrum Master)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering actionable insights and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple teams and functions
