Job description

Role Summary

Provides hands-on data review, quality checks, ingestion validation, and routine analytic support for national crime-reporting datasets. Works closely with program staff to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency across multiple collection systems.

Key Duties

  • Perform routine data-quality checks, validation, and completeness assessments.
  • Compare data across systems and verify accuracy during data ingestion and transformation.
  • Identify anomalies resulting from RMS programming or reporting practices.
  • Support analysis of legacy summary reporting versus incident-based reporting.
  • Update and maintain existing Power BI dashboards; assist in building new reports.
  • Prepare summary reports and findings for program leadership.
  • Validate XML and flat-file submissions and ensure business rules are properly applied.
  • Assist with documentation of data-quality processes and workflow steps.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Criminal Justice, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI (visualizations, dataset refresh, basic DAX).
  • Ability to identify data anomalies and clearly articulate findings.
