Job description

Position Summary

The Public Health Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned public health programs. This role ensures programs align with community health needs, regulatory standards, and organizational goals. The Supervisor provides leadership to staff, manages program operations, and collaborates with community partners to improve public health outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management & Implementation

    • Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned public health programs.

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local public health regulations.

    • Monitor program performance, outcomes, and impact.

    • Develop work plans, policies, and procedures for efficient program delivery.

  • Leadership & Supervision

    • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and evaluation of program staff.

    • Support staff training and professional development.

    • Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure quality service delivery.

  • Community Engagement & Partnerships

    • Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies.

    • Represent the organization in community meetings, forums, and public health initiatives.

    • Promote awareness and participation in public health programs.

  • Data & Reporting

    • Collect, analyze, and report program data and health indicators.

    • Prepare reports for management, funding agencies, and stakeholders.

    • Use data-driven insights to recommend program improvements.

  • Budget & Resource Management

    • Assist in developing and monitoring program budgets.

    • Ensure effective utilization of resources and adherence to grant/funding requirements.

    • Identify and pursue opportunities for program funding and sustainability.


Qualifications
  • Education:

    • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or related field (Masterโ€™s preferred).

  • Experience:

    • 3โ€“5 years of experience in public health programs, community health, or related field.

    • At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of public health principles and practices.

    • Excellent leadership, organizational, and team management skills.

    • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

    • Ability to build partnerships and work effectively with diverse populations.
