DescriptionThe Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join its outpatient Youth Behavioral Health program. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in treating youth with a range of mental health conditions across the developmental continuum, as well as working within a multidisciplinary, team-based care model. This position includes opportunities to participate in both clinical care and education. Support for nursing needs, scheduling, and case management will be provided.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Clinical outpatient child, adolescent and young adult treatment, teaching and collaboration are priorities for this position. • Research or education related funds can offset the percent time for any of these activities.• All faculty are encouraged to supervise residents and fellows.• Office space will be provided at the Brain Health Center, which includes on-site parking, as well as lab testing. • Successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary treatment team with expertise in child/adolescent psychiatry and psychology.• The clinic team includes nursing staff and Patient Care and Patient Service Coordinators who conduct intake scheduling and facilitate case management for patients.• The position will include joint faculty appointment at Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Healthcare.• A competitive benefit plan, including additional incentive pay opportunities and a favorable retirement plan, will also be provided to full-time faculty.QUALIFICATIONS:• The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicants. • Applicants should hold an unrestricted license for the state of Georgia and be board certified in Psychiatry.• The candidate must be board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry • Obtaining board certification will be a requirement for retention.• Consistent with the current vision and mission of the department and the division, preference will be given to applicants who have a combined and integrated interest in clinical, research, and teaching activities.• Appointment at any level beyond Assistant Professor will require a successful record of external funding to support research activities, administrative experience, and an active publication record of accomplished research.
