Job description

APP Nocturnist

APP Nocturnist provides medical evaluation, management and appropriate follow-up to patients in Level 2 specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiates patient care plans, including medical and pharmacological management as needed.
  • Stay up to date or may participate in research and incorporate its findings into practice.
  • Actively participates in continuous quality improvement projects including but not limited to lab and radiology call backs.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service with patients, staff, administrators and physicians.
  • Provides and/or serves as resource for patient/family and staff education.
  • Participate in continuing education for specialty area.
  • Stays up to date with divisional policies, guidelines and medical staff and hospital policies and rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant and appropriate licensure (PA or APRN) required.
  • Experience in specialty area is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.
  • ACLS is not required for Psych at Grady APP roles.

Note: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
