Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and career-driven Certified Medical Assistant who is a great team player to become a part of our mental health team at our Psychiatry Office in Lancaster, OH. You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical office running smoothly. You will be required to provide individualized, direct patient care to our patients under the supervision of our healthcare providers. The Medical Assistant must have previous experience in an out patient setting. Must be self driven, and a great team player who is able to assist fellow employees in providing the highest quality personalized patient care and maintain a positive work relationship with the office healthcare team. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for documentations, order entry, medication, laboratory as delegated by providers is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the flow of patients through the clinic by ensuring all patients are seen timely by provider, greet and escort the patients to and from the exam rooms. (Virtual and In-Office)
  • Triage, take patient vital signs and assess the patient within the scope of training, reconcile medications with patient.
  • Utilize EMR system appropriately, following HIPAA guidelines, for documentation entry and retrieval of patient’s data.
  • Triage patient phone calls and forward messages appropriately to respective personnel. Return patient calls and document the action within EMR system.
  • Effectively assist the providers by administering injections and medications, and performing Urine Drug Tests, under the direction, supervision and control of the providers.
  • Complete referrals, monitor patient intake forms, and scan and maintain patients documents.
  • Collect and enter patient information into patients’ EMR using correct medical terminology.
  • Assist the clinical team with all aspects of patient care including, but not limited to; answer messages, obtain medication prior authorizations, contact physicians or pharmacies, record retrieval, and random pill counts.
  • Effectively assist the front desk with new and follow up patient scheduling, answering incoming calls, making outgoing calls, incoming/outgoing emails.
