Position Overview

Stratos Solutions has an opportunity for a Program Security Officer (PSO) to support an Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD customer in Chantilly, VA. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive technical and operational security support across classified government programs, ensuring compliance with applicable national security policies, directives, and regulatory requirements.

This role supports mission-critical space and intelligence programs and requires expertise in personnel, physical, information, and operational security disciplines. The successful candidate will work directly with Government Program Security Officers and program leadership to ensure secure operations, compliance with governing security standards, and protection of classified information and mission infrastructure.

Responsibilities

The Program Security Officer will provide technical and administrative security support to government and DoD programs in accordance with applicable IC and DoD security policies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Personnel Security & Access Management

  • Interpret, implement, and administer security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage personnel access quotas and program access requests.
  • Process program accesses, first-tier adjudications, and periodic reinvestigations.
  • Conduct program indoctrinations, debriefings, and security briefings.
  • Maintain accurate personnel security records and access documentation.

Information & Classification Security

  • Perform classification review of outgoing documents, electronic media, and equipment.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of classification guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with information handling, marking, transmission, and destruction procedures.
  • Maintain records related to classified material control and accountability.

Physical & Technical Security

  • Support physical security program requirements and facility compliance efforts.
  • Assemble data and documentation required for:
    • Inspectable Space Determinations (ISD)
    • TEMPEST packages
    • Automated Information System (AIS) security packages
    • Physical security accreditation documentation
  • Maintain physical security, AIS, and TEMPEST records in accordance with governing directives.
  • Develop and implement facility operating procedures.
  • Prepare and coordinate Co-Utilization Agreements (CUAs).
  • Provide input and guidance on facility design reviews and construction security criteria.

Operational Security (OPSEC)

  • Administer the OPSEC process to identify vulnerabilities and determine appropriate countermeasures.
  • Support development and implementation of OPSEC plans and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with program leadership to ensure operational activities comply with OPSEC requirements.

Government Interface & Compliance

  • Receive direction from and coordinate closely with the Government PSO.
  • Support inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure program security posture aligns with applicable IC and DoD policies, including ICDs, DoDMs, and NISPOM requirements as applicable.
  • Provide security guidance to program personnel and leadership.

Required Qualifications

Education & Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Business, or related field
    (Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements)
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Experience supporting IC or DoD program security operations
  • Working knowledge of IC and/or DoD security policies and procedures
  • Experience processing program accesses and maintaining personnel security records
  • Experience supporting classified facility operations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and implement security directives and guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience supporting NRO or other IC space programs
  • Experience supporting TEMPEST, AIS, and Inspectable Space Determination (ISD) processes
  • Familiarity with ICD 705 technical security standards
  • Experience supporting SCIF accreditation and sustainment
