07/26Provo City is hiring a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide skilled trades work in carpentry, electronics, and a variety of other facility and equipment maintenance and repair projects. Pay Rate: (G24) $23.56 - $34.97 per hour (depending on experience)

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair work across multiple trades, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting, and general facility upkeep.

  • Diagnose issues with building systems, equipment, HVAC controls, and security/access systems.

  • Design, modify, or troubleshoot construction and maintenance projects as needed.

  • Conduct inspections on facilities, equipment, and project work to ensure safety and code compliance.

  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance projects, including developing work plans and estimating time, materials, and costs.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and purchases.

  • Monitor contractor work to ensure alignment with contract requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Supervise fulltime and parttime maintenance staff, ensuring safe and efficient performance.

  • Maintain tools and equipment, performing minor and major repairs as needed.

  • Perform other facility maintenance duties to support recreation center operations.

What are the minimum requirements?

Provo City will honor equivalent combinations of education and experience.

  • Three years of experience as an Apprentice Facilities Maintenance Technician OR five years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of trades or crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, construction, electrical, or other trade.

  • A valid, lawful Driver's License.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on July 27, 2026. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
