RESET ROOM CERTIFIED TEACHER

General Description
Full-time high school teaching position responsible for supervising the in-school suspension (ISS) / reset room.










Provides structured academic support, monitors student behavior, and ensures a safe, orderly environment that promotes reflection, accountability, and continued academic progress.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or eligibility for Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or ELS for grades 9-12
Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities
High school teaching experience
Desired Qualifications
Experience with student behavior intervention/support
Experience in alternative or structured learning environments
Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
ESL, Bilingual, or Special Education endorsements preferred











Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional & Academic Support
Supervise students for full ISS/reset room day
Ensure completion of assigned coursework
Communicate with teachers regarding assignments
Provide academic support and clarification
Track and document student work completion in SIS
Behavioral Management & Monitoring
Maintain structured and supervised environment
Enforce school rules and expectations
Document behavior and incidents in SIS
Support student reflection and accountability
Implement interventions aligned to MTSS
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate with administrators regarding student progress and/or concerns
Coordinate closely with counselors, deans, and teachers
Participate in student support discussions as needed
Collaboration with outside agencies (PLCCA, West 40)
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Environment & Supervision
Ensure safety and order at all times
Monitor student transitions
Oversee appropriate use of materials and technology
Professionally Related Responsibilities
Follow district policies and procedures
Attend meetings and professional learning
Support Strategic Plan goals
Maintain punctuality and attendance
Document required data in SIS
Monitors, documents, and communicates student progress/activities/outcomes using technology resources.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the evaluation of personnel, as outlined in As established by the current Agreement between Proviso Township High Schools District No. 209 Board of Education, Board Policy 5:320. All evaluations shall comply with State and Federal law and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
