Job description

Groundskeeper - The Province
Department: Property Maintenance
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: The Province - Rochester, NY
Reporting To: Senior Service Manager
Compensation: $18.00 / hour
Description
As a Groundskeeper, you'll play a critical part in maintaining an ACC student housing community. In this role, you will maintain buildings and grounds, including common areas and amenities, to enhance and maintain the property's curb appeal. At ACC, there are always opportunities to gain new certifications, and grow in your career - whether it is by supporting nearby properties or on the job training.
  • Clean the interior and exterior of the property to standard.
  • Property groundskeeping, including trash collection.
  • Vacuuming, mopping and/or shampooing floors in resident rooms and common areas; stocking bathrooms
  • Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Support the service team with apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
  • Assist in property turnover process.
  • Support the service team with pool maintenance (if applicable) and pressure washing.
  • Safely operate all facility equipment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining clean and orderly shops, storage areas, and back-of house environments, ensuring all tools and supplies are organized.
  • Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the Groundskeeper role is a reliable and detail-oriented individual with experience in or willingness to learn general labor and property (apartment) maintenance. This role supports the cleanliness and upkeep of both interior and exterior areas of the property.
Candidates should be able to follow multi-step instructions, work safely, and contribute to maintaining a well-presented environment. Prior experience with facilities maintenance is helpful but not required, as training is provided to support success in the role.

  • The ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
