Job Description
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing production activities through direction supervision of applicable production supervisors and coordinating the efficient manufacturing of products, which meet safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives with the Operations Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Plan and direct short term (shift, day, and weekly) production functions to meet schedule, quality and cost goals.
  • Analyze production requirements and problems to implement corrective action in terms of manpower scheduling, equipment needs, and technical problems.
  • Provide planning input to the longer term planning functions based on performance, staffing, and equipment availability.
  • Review and analyze cost and schedule data of various operations to monitor performance/productivity and implement improvement plans as required.
  • Monitor and control overhead spending to work within approved plant operating budgets.
  • Enforce work rules and practices in a fair manner to staff and hourly workforce.
  • Provide input on methods to improve productivity through equipment acquisition, better methods of assembly, and overhead reductions.
  • Ensure employee skills are assessed as needed and create Personnel skills development plans and performance appraisals of all staff.
  • Interact with other departments when necessary to ensure proper system function.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Delegate work to subordinates when necessary to ensure efficiency and timely completion of all tasks.
  • Complete necessary documentation and file appropriately.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Management preferred or HS Diploma or GED equivalent and related experience in manufacturing and production supervision.
  • At least five years of production and/or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office - specifically MS Word and Excel.
  • Flexible Schedule - Ability to work OT when needed.
