Job Summary

Manages the gas distribution functions for a specific geographic service area.Is responsible foroperation and maintenance of the underground distribution system, customerserviceand accounting activities toassuredependable gas service is supplied to all customers.Representsthe company in the community,maintainseffective customerrelationsand provides ahigh profilepresence with active community involvement.

Essential Functions
  • Manages the gas distribution functions for operation and maintenance of the underground distribution system, may direct individual employees andcrewsor may manage supervisor of service, construction &maintenanceand/or operations.
  • Monitors operations and accounting activities toassureconsistent compliance with regulatory requirements and tariffs, operating standards, company policies,guidelinesand processes.
  • Cultivates relationships with business leaders, elected officials, community contactsand appointed regulatory staff members to achieve business results.
  • Investigates fire and explosion sites to evaluate extentof company liability and protect against possible fraudulent property damage claims.
  • Make speeches and presentations to elected officials, community groupsand employees.
Education Description
  • Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in business administration, marketing,engineeringor related field.In lieu of education requires a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in one of the following: gas and/or electric operations, accounting,engineeringor related field.
Experience
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in one of the following: gas and/or electric operations, accounting, engineering or related field, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a supervisor or manager.
Physical Requirements
  • Able tooperatea personal computer, eitherdesktopor laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 10 Lbs of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
Working Conditions
  • paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work in a normal office environment with occasional travel to off-site locations and stay overnight as required.
  • Able to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts.
  • Able to work more than 40 hours per week, as required meeting established deadlines and accomplish objectives.
