Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary

The Technical Sales Engineer's primary responsibility is to maximize the territory sales revenue through direct sales and achieve annual revenue targets. The Technical Sales Engineer is also responsible for managing, maintaining, and building client relationships within the specified territory. The successful candidate will report directly to the DGSI General Manager and will ideally work out of our Tucker, GA office in a hybrid or onsite capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets;
  • Drive day-to-day sales with regular interaction with direct customers and distributors within territory;
  • Strengthen geographical market presence for DGSI products;
  • Provide technical/application/training support to distributors and end-users;
  • Prospecting customers, following-up with sales leads, issuing quotes and/or preparing bid applications;
  • Develop, maintain, and grow the sales pipeline in order to meet growth targets;
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecast for management reporting;
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers'/decision makers/users of the instrumentation;
  • Perform product demonstrations or training as required;
  • Strong team player that is willing to support in all areas of the business as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Geotechnology or Environmental Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct sales with technical products such as instrumentation, sensors, and material testing;
  • Strong understanding of distribution networks, sales strategies and geotechnology/environmental market dynamics;
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as strong negotiation, communication, relationship building skills;
  • Ability to analyze sales metrics and market data;
  • Strong time management skills;
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to constructively resolve conflicts;
  • Ability to travel up to 50%;
  • Work extended hours as needed.

Compensation

  • Base salary, depending on candidate's experience, plus quarterly commissions based on meeting sales goals
  • 3 weeks paid vacation time per year;
