Job description

HD Hyundai Electric America Corporation is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Technical Sales Engineer to join our sales team. This role is crucial in driving business growth by bridging the gap between technical product knowledge and customer needs in the power transformer and electrical equipment markets across North America.
The Technical Sales Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and customer service teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client technical requirements and budgetary constraints. This role involves identifying market opportunities, supporting sales proposals, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the review customer's spec and make commercial and technical quotations with technical documents
  • Work with the customers and Engineers to ensure the equipment meets the system requirements
  • Communicate with the sales team to understand consumer demands and offer sales support where necessary
  • Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery
  • Establish customer rapport and acceptance
  • Plan for modifications to products to meet consumer demands
  • Help clients to solve problems with product usage
  • Recommend new and improved products to the customers and explain how the equipment will be more cost-effective
  • Provide information to management to avoid any potential risk of the contract
  • Coordinate with local forwarder to make sure the products arrive within delivery(Review shipment status daily and weekly, making necessary adjustments)
  • Arrange trucking shipment with local forwarder
  • Make a weekly base conference call with Design Department and receive technical support for the projects with critical technical requirements.
  • Analyze customer requirement and find suitable and economic design of motors and generators for the customers
  • Advises team members or management on the delay of delivery or quotation
  • Support for the customer service at the site if required

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical sales or engineering role within power transformer or electrical equipment industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, and related products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and translate them into customer-friendly information
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
  • Bilingual in both English and Korean
