Job description

Collide, part of the Propelis Group, provides brand activation solutions across print, promo, digital and fabrication, supporting large and small brands around the world from brand creation to implementation.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Prototype Technician builds prototypes for clients based on direction provided by engineering. The purpose of these prototypes is to validate to form, fit and function of the industrial design.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds prototypes per specifications.
  • Redlines drawings for changes/corrections.
  • Assesses challenges and risks of product.
  • Verifies vendor parts per specification.
  • Validates instruction sheets.
  • Presents ideas to engineering for alternate construction.
  • Assists as required to transfer information to manufacturing.
  • Installs prototypes in the field as required.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
  • 3+ years of previous prototype experience preferred
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
