Job Description

As a Protective Intelligence Analyst, you will be embedded within our client's risk and intelligence team, supporting their security and strategic decision-making. Your main responsibilities will include proactively identifying and researching potential threats, analyzing emerging trends, and assessing risks that could impact the client's personnel, operations, reputation, and strategic objectives. 

In this role, you will apply your expertise in intelligence analysis to provide actionable insights, advise decision-makers, and help develop strategies to mitigate risks. You'll be responsible for monitoring various sources of information, synthesizing complex data, and communicating your findings clearly to support the client's safety and success. 

The ideal Protective Intelligence Analyst is passionate about intelligence work, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to delivering impactful analysis that helps protect and inform the client's organization. This role requires weekend work on a six-week rotation. This is a remote role, but the candidate must work West Coast hours.   

Essential Functions / Responsibilities  

  • Monitor all-source information to proactively identify and assess threats, as well as highlight emerging trends that may impact business, productions, and talent.  

  • Conduct detailed assessments on threat actors and maintain databases.  

  • Support talent and executive protection details with accurate and timely information and alerting  

  • Provide security/threat assessments for events.  

  • Respond to critical incidents, rapidly research and deliver information in a clear and concise format.  

  • Conduct investigations into threat actors. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Advanced knowledge of open-source, social media, and public records search techniques. 

  • Experience with threat assessment tools and structured professional judgment guides for targeted violence risk. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills. 

  • Clearly communicate risk to stakeholders in a concise format. 

  • Approach cases with empathy and discretion. 

  • Be aware of and work through cognitive bias that may impact assessment. 

  • Proven ability to work with highly confidential information. 

  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and function in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. 

  • Strong analytic, oral, and written presentation skills to include the ability to deliver communications centered on the target audience. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Web-based social media platforms, search tools, productivity applications, and communication technology. 

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Security Studies, International Relations, Criminal Justice, Business Management, or a relevant field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent professional experience. Master's degree, preferred. 

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in the protective intelligence field in a corporate setting. 

  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate. Role requires weekend work on a six-week rotation.  

  • This is a remote role, but the candidate must work West Coast hours.   

  • Foreign language proficiency a plus. 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements 

This position is moderately self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The position may require travel up to 5%.
