Salary: $135,000 - $155,000

Catalyst Operations & Analytics is seeking a Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator with strong analytical skills and proven expertise in blockchain investigations. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality insights and actionable intelligence to our clients. This position will be on-site at our company headquarters.


At Catalyst, we all wear many hats, and flexibility is part of how we work. While your primary focus will be cryptocurrency investigations, you may occasionally be asked to support additional projects or tasks, always with the shared goal of helping our team and mission succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed investigations into cryptocurrency transactions using advanced blockchain analysis tools.
  • Analyze and interpret blockchain data to identify patterns, anomalies, and suspicious activity.
  • Prepare clear, detailed, and professional investigation reports suitable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity professionals, legal experts, and data scientists, to support comprehensive investigations.
  • Monitor emerging trends in blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies to enhance investigative methodologies.
  • Provide expert insights to clients on best practices for cryptocurrency risk management and compliance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS Degree and 24 years of experience in cryptocurrency investigations, blockchain forensics, or a related field.
  • A Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator (CCI) or equivalent certification is required.
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret blockchain data effectively.
  • Familiarity with blockchain analysis tools such as Chainalysis, CipherTrace, Elliptic, or TRM Labs.
  • Strong understanding of cryptocurrency wallets, exchanges, smart contracts, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on producing client-ready investigative reports.
  • Ability to present findings to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance preferred, but not required.

Preferred:

  • Experience in regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering (AML), or legal investigations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and digital forensics.
