What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in prospecting, and why are they important?

To excel in Prospecting, strong communication, research abilities, and persistence are essential, often supported by experience in sales or business development. Familiarity with CRM systems, lead generation tools, and email outreach platforms is frequently required. Job description

Description:

Sell fitness. Hit goals. Earn Bonuses. Build a career in sales.

At Orangetheory Fitness, we're not just selling memberships, we're closing deals that change lives. As a Sales Associate, you are a hunter: prospecting new leads, booking first time classes, conducting full discovery consultations, and converting prospects into paying members. This is a quota-driven sales role where your success is measured in memberships sold!

We're looking for competitive, results-driven sales professionals who thrive on the challenge of hitting targets and love the thrill of selling. If you have a proven track record in sales, embrace accountability, and want to build a career where your hustle directly impacts your paycheck, this is your opportunity.

Why Work for Orangetheory Fitness?

  • Monthly Sales Bonuses – hit sales goals, get rewarded
  • Free Orangetheory Membership – experience what you're selling
  • PTO, Sick Time & Holiday Pay
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • Supplemental Insurance Options – life, accident, critical illness, and more
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Comprehensive Sales Training – learn our proven sales process and conversion strategies
  • Career Advancement – top performers move into senior sales and management roles
  • Employee Recognition Program – we celebrate our top closers

What You'll Do as a Sales Associate:

  • Proactively call and text leads to book introductory sessions
  • Conduct 20-30+ outbound calls daily to prospects who've shown interest
  • Run full discovery consultations to understand prospect needs and overcome objections
  • Give high-energy studio tours and position the value of membership
  • Close sales on the spot – convert prospects during their first visit
  • Meet or exceed monthly membership sales quotas
  • Follow up persistently with prospects via phone, email, and text until they book or buy
  • Track sales activities and pipeline in our CRM system
  • Collaborate with coaches to ensure seamless handoff for first-time class experiences
  • Re-engage past leads and nurture warm prospects through strategic outreach
  • Provide exceptional member service to support retention (while maintaining focus on new sales)
  • Participate in Orangetheory classes to authentically speak to the product you're selling
Requirements:

What You Must Bring:

  • 1+ years of proven sales experience (retail, gym, B2C, phone sales, or membership sales preferred)
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas – we want closers, not order-takers
  • Hunter mentality – you're driven, persistent, and motivated
  • Excellent phone skills – comfortable making 20-30+ calls per day and handling objections
  • Extroverted personality – you energize people and create excitement
  • Urgency and follow-through – you don't wait for sales to come to you
  • Coachability – you take feedback and continuously improve your close rate
  • Comfortable with accountability – you own your numbers and take pride in your performance
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Weekend availability required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM/sales tracking software
  • Background in fitness, wellness, or membership-based sales
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a quota environment

This is NOT the right role if you're looking for:

  • A primarily customer service position
  • A job where you wait for people to come to you
  • A role without sales targets or accountability

Ready to turn your sales skills into a rewarding career? Apply now and show us your track record.
