Description

The Manager, Business Development - Golf is responsible for generating new partnership revenue for TGL and WTGL by identifying, cultivating, and closing small-to-medium sized sponsorship opportunities across a variety of categories. Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships - Golf, this role will own prospecting efforts, develop category-specific sales strategies, and manage the sales process from outreach through deal execution.

This individual will play a critical role in expanding TGL and WTGL's partner portfolio, opening new categories, and building a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects. As part of a fast-growing startup, this role will primarily support Golf properties while also contributing to other business development initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong prospecting skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Own prospecting efforts across assigned categories, developing and managing a consistent pipeline of qualified partnership opportunities
  • Develop and execute category-specific prospecting strategies aligned with TGL and WTGL revenue goals, open inventory, and growth priorities
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through research, outreach, networking, industry events, and market intelligence
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting through close for small- and medium-sized opportunities, including outreach, discovery, presentations, proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Build relationships with brand marketers, agency partners, and decision-makers to position TGL and WTGL as strategic marketing platforms
  • Partner with internal teams to develop customized partnership solutions that align with prospect objectives and league assets
  • Support senior business development leaders on larger strategic opportunities through prospect research, lead generation, market insights, and category intelligence
  • Help expand TGL and WTGL into emerging and underdeveloped categories by identifying brands where the properties offer a differentiated partnership proposition
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, prospect activity, and deal progression within CRM systems
  • Collaborate with Client Services, Marketing, Content, Operations, and Finance teams to support proposal development and revenue-driving initiatives
  • Contribute to sales materials, category analyses, case studies, and prospecting tools that support new business efforts
  • Support business development initiatives across TMRW Sports properties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Five or more years of sponsorship sales, business development, media sales, brand partnerships, or related revenue-generation experience
  • Proven success prospecting and closing new business opportunities
  • Experience developing outbound sales strategies and building qualified sales pipelines
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using CRM platforms and maintaining accurate pipeline reporting
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel as needed

 Preferred:

  • Experience in sports, media, entertainment, sponsorship, or agency environments
  • Understanding of golf, professional sports partnerships, and sponsorship valuation
  • Experience selling integrated marketing, media, experiential, or sponsorship solutions
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
