Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Proposal Manager to drive the development and delivery of winning bids across our Defense and Commercial Aerospace sectors. In this role, you will lead the proposal lifecycle, transforming complex requirements into clear, persuasive, and mission-critical documentation.
As a critical hub for our Business Development Team, you will manage cross-functional inputs to ensure our solutions are presented with accuracy and administrative excellence. This position offers a unique opportunity to act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring every proposal reflects Moog's commitment to innovation and quality.
You'll have an onsite work schedule at our business unit in Mineral Wells, TX. Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.
Proposal Strategy & Leadership
  • End-to-End Management: Lead the full proposal lifecycle, from RFI/RFP receipt through fact-finding and final negotiations.
  • Strategic Planning: Plan and direct cross-functional team activities to ensure process adherence and the inclusion of key stakeholders.
  • Liaison & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact-both internally and externally-to address technical and administrative inquiries throughout the pursuit.
  • Alignment: Maintain regular communication with Business Unit leaders to ensure proposals align with overarching divisional strategies, goals, and customer relationships.

Content & Compliance
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze complex solicitations to identify specific requirements and prepare fully compliant responses.
  • Technical Writing: Draft, write, and coordinate inputs to create high-impact final deliverables, including compliance matrices and product descriptions.
  • Documentation Quality: Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all customer-facing materials, including data sheets, technical presentations, and proposal narratives.

Coordination & Execution
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Facilitate collaboration between Engineering, Business Development, and Program Management to synthesize diverse technical data into a cohesive "one-voice" narrative.
  • Timeline Execution: Establish and manage rigorous proposal schedules to ensure all internal milestones and submission deadlines are met.
  • Meeting Management: Coordinate internal and external meetings, maintaining thorough documentation of strategy, reviews, and decision-making.
  • Field Support: Support the Business Development team during customer engagements and trade shows to clarify requirements and promote solutions (approximately 15% travel).

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Proposal Management, Program Management, or Business Development, specifically within the Defense and Commercial Aerospace sectors (Avionics, Special Mission, or Military Aviation).
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, U.S. Government contracts, and commercial contracts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Work, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM/Document repositories (SharePoint, Dynamics).
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical data into compelling business narrative for diverse leadership levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and rigid proposal deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal engineering teams and external customers to achieve winning outcomes.
  • Must be a U.S citizen with the ability to manage controlled unclassified information and sensitive security data.

Salary Range Transparency:

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
