POSITION SUMMARY:

The Recruiter supports the full employee lifecycle with a primary focus on recruiting, hiring, and onboarding. The Recruiter for property management is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring property management office team members, including but not limited to Property Managers, Assistant Property Managers, and Leasing Consultants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage responsibilities related to hiring property office personnel in a manner that supports current & future staffing needs.
  • Create processes that foster timely movement of recruiting stages to decrease the time frame to fill positions
  • Meets weekly with SVP of Property Management to prioritize and rank by positions based on portfolio needs.
  • Meets with HR quarterly to ensure job descriptions are current and interview questions are appropriate.
  • Attend various property operations meetings , as assigned, to identify recruiting needs (e.g., High Impact)
  • Directly recruits, interviews, and hires property management office personnel Develop and manage proactive recruiting strategies using job boards, industry networks, trade schools, referrals, and career fairs, industry networking events, etc.
  • Develop creative approaches to attract experienced property management professionals, including passive candidates who are not actively seeking employment.
  • Screens candidates for technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability, customer service skills, and safety awareness.
  • Partners with Regional Managers and Regional Vice Presidents to understand staffing needs, hiring priorities, property conditions, and role expectations.
  • Coordinates and conducts interviews and makes candidates aware of the offers of verbal employment.
  • Works with HR Generalist to draft offer letters, and to conduct onboarding activities.
  • Builds and maintains a pipeline of qualified property management professionals for current and future openings.
  • Works with SVP of HR to track recruiting metrics to include, time-to-fill, candidate quality, and hiring effectiveness.
  • Promote the company's culture and career opportunities to attract top maintenance talent.
  • Analyze property manager staffing trends, turnover, market availability, compensation, and hiring challenges to proactively identify workforce needs and recommend solutions.
  • Help develop a career path that demonstrates opportunities for advancement from Leasing Consultant to Property Manager and other leadership roles.
  • Travel to properties in portfolio to understand office needs. Travel is 20%-30% of the time.

Qualification Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, or Leasing Consultant
  • CAM and/or HCCP Certification Preferred
  • Experience with an HRIS preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • In Corporate Office environment in Indianapolis 3 to 4 days per week, other site visits and networking during non-office days.
