Job description

As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University's is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Assistant Football Coach to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing assistance to the general operation of the Marian Football program. This non-benefit-eligible position will be required to work evening and weekends throughout the year. Reporting to the Head Football Coach will help provide leadership, management, and strategic planning for the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Assist with the supervision and organization of practices and games while complying with relevant rules and regulations
  • Maintain proper and appropriate discipline among students during athletic contests, practices, and while on trips off campus.
  • Under supervision by the head football coach, he is responsible for conducting football practices in season and during spring football
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, Marian University, Conference, and NAIA policies and procedures
  • Promote the philosophy and values of the Athletic Program and Marian University's
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Preferred bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Prior coaching experience (high school, college, and/or studio/club)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must display excellent customer and staff relation skills
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to the mission of Marian University
