Job description
Position Overview
The Defensive Assistant strengthens defensive preparation by managing team video workflows, analyzing opponent film, and contributing to weekly game planning. They also provide hands-on coaching support during practice drills and execute assigned strategic duties during games. This person will be the assistant to the defensive coordinator.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the football program
Support coaches during practice and perform assigned game day responsibilities
Assist the Video Coordinator with filming, uploading, and organization practice and game footage
Complete the opponent film breakdowns and maintain video databases
Assist the defensive coaching staff with opponent scouting and game planning
Perform additional duties as assigned by the coaching staff
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Strong communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Organizational skills; ability to multi-task/manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking skills; willingness to learn and take initiative
Proven ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and within a team structure
Proficiency in office software systems such as: MS Word, Office, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
Desired candidate will have outstanding verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and other athletics staff.
